Hardware recommendations (capacity planning)

The Apache Cassandra community is contemplating/discussing using a self-hosted Plausible for cassandra.apache.org

Basic daily visit numbers can be found in https://uls.apache.org/exports/cassandra.apache.org.yaml

With this traffic, what hardware should we be looking at?

I’m running a test instance for the recommended self-hosted setup

  • Using the smallest Digital Ocean droplet (1vCPU, 1GB RAM, $5/mo)
  • Tracks our landing page which gets similar traffic (~1-10k/day)
  • Works perfectly well

Here’s the live dashboard: https://testing.plausible.io/plausible.io/

And as you can see, the CPU is mostly hovering between 5-10%
